If you’re looking for Healthy Teen Minds, you’ve found us – though we’ve evolved significantly since those early days.
People Un Limited is our official company name, and we now focus all our work under our We Can Talk brand.
Our journey from 2013 to today
Healthy Teen Minds was founded in 2013 with a clear mission: to transform the way young people experiencing mental health challenges are supported. We pioneered co-production approaches in mental health, putting lived experience at the heart of everything we did.
In December 2022, we became People Unlimited, expanding our ambition beyond young people to accelerate culture change across organisations supporting people of all ages. Our core values remained the same – changing the culture around mental health and championing people with lived experience as central drivers of change.
Today, we operate as We Can Talk, focusing our expertise on supporting staff in hospital settings and healthcare environments. Whilst our name and focus have evolved, the principles that made Healthy Teen Minds impactful in 2013 still drive our work today: co-production, lived experience leadership, and transforming how people feel about mental health.
What’s changed
Our focus has shifted from working specifically with young people to supporting people of all ages in healthcare settings. This evolution reflects where we’ve seen we can have the greatest impact – working with hospital staff to transform how they support anyone experiencing a mental health crisis, regardless of age.
Our current focus is on supporting staff in healthcare settings rather than youth-specific programmes, but the same passionate team continues to champion lived experience and co-production in everything we do through We Can Talk.
What hasn’t changed
The values and mission that defined Healthy Teen Minds remain at our core:
- Co-production with people with lived experience leading the way
- Transforming culture around mental health support
- Evidence-based approaches combined with real-world insight
- Commitment to compassionate, effective crisis support
If you valued what Healthy Teen Minds stood for, you’ll recognise that same commitment in We Can Talk’s approach today.
Where we are now
We Can Talk delivers training and support for healthcare professionals working in hospital settings. Our programmes bring together clinical expertise and lived experience to help staff feel more confident and effective when supporting people in mental health crisis.
We’re proud of our roots in Healthy Teen Minds and grateful to everyone who supported us from 2013 onwards. That foundation has shaped who we are today.
