Portsmouth Hospitals and Isle of Wight NHS Trusts partner with We Can Talk

In a joint initiative, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and Isle of Wight NHS Trust have partnered with We Can Talk to make mental health training available across both organisations.

Staff, students and volunteers at both trusts — more than 8,700 at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, serving a population of around 675,000 across Portsmouth and south east Hampshire, and around 3,000 at Isle of Wight NHS Trust, the only integrated acute, community, mental health and ambulance provider in England, serving around 140,000 people on the Island — can now access We Can Talk’s one-hour, all-age course designed to build confidence in supporting patients who attend hospital in a mental health crisis.

Accessing We Can Talk at Portsmouth Hospitals and Isle of Wight NHS Trusts

Staff, students and volunteers at either trust can access We Can Talk through their organisation’s unique registration link. If you work at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust or Isle of Wight NHS Trust and haven’t received your access link yet, email team@wecantalk.com and we’ll provide it.

About We Can Talk

We Can Talk is a one-hour, self-directed mental health training course, created with people who have lived experience of attending hospital in a mental health crisis. It gives every member of hospital staff — clinical and non-clinical — the knowledge, skills and confidence to support patients in mental health crisis, building on the expertise they already have.
